If I could describe Emily & Levi in one word: FUN. These two always have an absolute blast with each other and combined with their hilarious family & friends – the entire day was a hoot! Emily did pretty much everything for her wedding “do it yourself” style from the party favors to the amazingly genius backdrop at their reception – and everything turned out amazing! I hope you love the images as much as I loved being a part of your special day!

You know it’s going to be a wonderful time when a laid back bride emails in hopes that you can take her engagement photos…then you plan a shoot for 3 days later when they happen to be back in Iowa visiting family…and you pick a location literally the day before the shoot that turns out to be perfect!

It. Was. Awesome.
I had so much fun with you both! Your easy going attitudes will make your wedding day so perfect and I am so excited that Iowa will have the privilege of being your new home after your wedding day! Maggie and Marc got married on a perfectly chilly December 1st. Maggie made an absolutely stunning bride and both her and Marc were all smiles all day. You could just feel their excitement when they got to see each other for the first time before their ceremony. And that was just the start! Their family was so welcoming and their friends a blast! I so enjoyed being a part of their beautiful day and couldn’t think of a better way to end the 2012 season than with these two lovebirds!

It was such a beautiful ceremony! Of course we had to go to the couple’s favorite bar!From dancing Gangnam Style in the parking lot (to no music, by the way) to dancing the entire bus ride on the way to the reception – this group was full of dancing fools – and it was AWESOME.

Remember what I said about dancing…yeah, they kept going!! Love it when the dancing never stops!Love the next one of Maggie when these boys were singing to her – too funny!What better way to end the night than juggling the fake basketball in the middle of the circle – absolutely hilarious!

THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of your crazy fun day! I know this was a good way to end to your 2012 – but I can imagine it was an even better way to begin your 2013! CONGRATS!

What an amazing couple! Katie & Chris are so much fun to be around and so easy to be around! They are incredibly comfortable with themselves and each other and so very obviously in love. All of these things make them an absolute joy to photograph and I couldn’t be happier they asked me to capture their big day! It was perfect from the lovely weather to the faith-filled ceremony and an extremely entertaining reception! I know these two will have the happiest marriage! Congratulations!!Her bridesmaids (and flowergirls; see stick figure drawings) wrote cute messages on the bottom of her shoes – this was Katie’s something blue! Loved this idea!Chris wins best gifts for his groomsmen EVER. Is it wrong that I thought it would be absolutely hysterical if they wore this for the actual ceremony?!Chris & Katie decided not to see each other beforehand but exchanged gifts. love this one of Chris seeing his bride walk down the aisle…My goodness, you two are adorable! This is one of my favorites!

Katie so wanted vibrant leaves for her pictures but most of them had already fallen. We stopped at a gas station while on the party bus and I found this gem of a tree across the street – the ones next to it wear nearly leafless but we were able to get some great color with the one!! Wahoo!The party bus was epic. Don’t worry, there are more of these on your online gallery
Katie’s aunt makes these cakes! Holy talented!!Chris presented Katie with a journal before the ceremony that he had been keeping for months. Each entry was signed this same way – how beautiful!

I wish I were this cool:One of my most favorite wedding moments EVER!! The DJ put on the “Wipe Out” song and the dance floor immediately cleared and everyone started running as fast as they could and literally wiping out on the floor! So hysterical and a first for me Jake & Allie are getting married this May! I love these next two of them.
What better way to end the night than with the Bohemian Rhapsody. Naturally.Congratulations to a wonderful couple!!

Jackie & Jeff are 2 of the coolest people that I know. Seriously. Jackie can have a good time at any place or anytime and Jeff brews beer in his apartment. These two biology geeks met and fell in love at Benedictine and have been dating since as long as I’ve known them. They are dear friends to John and I and it was such an honor to photograph their wedding day!

And what an amazing day it was! Jackie is the absolute most laid back & down to earth person you will ever meet – her biggest concern was making sure everyone else would have an awesome time at her wedding. Her attitude made her day so much fun! We had a great time wandering around K State campus and finding hidden treasures like the Powell Bros. building. It was an absolutely perfect day filled with family, best friends, and a ridiculously fun reception. Party on, my friends – you are way too perfect for each other!

Some love stories are just too perfect. AJ & Amy’s is one of them. They met while studying abroad in London…but attended different schools. And started dating…in London. Who knew you’d find your soulmate from the state next door while you’re both halfway around the world.
Amy is an event planner, so you can imagine the perfect details from their big day. And it truly was just that… perfect. The weather was a tad chilly, but for October in Iowa, you couldn’t ask for anything better! It was a joy to meet and spend the day with all of their family & friends – they kept me laughing all day long! I wish you both the very best, you make a beautiful couple!

Amy went to the Farmer’s Market in downtown DSM and bought these flowers the morning of her wedding. AWESOME, right? Did I mention Amy is the coolest?!

Epic.AJ’s dad is the drummer – HOW COOL IS THAT!one of my favorite dance shots. What can I say, Amy’s bros know how to bust some moves. AJ serenaded Amy (and all of the other guests who were completely silent) with Glen Hansard’s beautiful song “Falling Slowly”. It was so adorable!
